2 Owners, 1 Business

2 Owners, 1 BusinessToday I would like to share some of my recent experience.

My partner and I are doing wholesale business. He does the customer support and sending items, while I on another hand everything what is marketing related + calls to important customers.

Anyway, over the last few days he decided to drop small customers (who orders like 5-10 items per month) and focus on catching big fishes.

Now the pros of course are:
More time
Only a couple of USD profit loss (which probably is being compensated by the increase of free time).

Of course, I am against that. To be fair, big fishes already got their suppliers and rarely seeks for new ones.

Also, since our small customers business is growing, it wouldn’t be wise just to drop them. I truly believe that some of them will become big fishes later in the future. Some actually already orders stuff for over 40 000 USD / year (but not from us… yet).

So since he wants to drop them, there is 1 issue:

I don’t want to do that

Of course, I could just do that myself, but that’s kind of eliminates the whole point of doing business with partner, since with double profits, I can do that by myself.

Yes, that would mean starting my own company, re-doing all things I done (marketing, SEO, etc.) + finding new clients…

Also, since my partner sends all the items, manufactures them… I would still need a new partner or just move closer to his location and do that by myself (hardly possible).

So yes, I am still not sure where will this lead if won’t be able to convince my partner to stop this bs.

Oh, did I forgot to tell that he already said some customers who contacted us recently that we will be handing big fishes only without telling me?
